'People Lie' At the Getty

Eileen Cowin's fine art photography, on exhibit at the Getty, looks at the culture of lying.

If you think your life is fairy-tale perfect, then you'd better take a better look at the fine print in some of your fairy tale literature, said fine art photographer Eileen Cowin.

Her series on exhibit at the Getty, called "I Hear What You're Saying," studies lying by way of Snow White.

The idea for using these Brothers Grimm-inspired photographs came to her while listening to a segment on the culture of lying on National Public Radio's "Talk of the Nation."

Cowin's photographs were part of a larger exhibit featuring images by Lyonel Feininger, a highly-proclaimed early 20th century photographer and one of the first masters to teach at the Bauhaus, a renowned school of art and design in Germany.
