LAFD Rescues Kitten Trapped Under Car in Brentwood

Los Angeles firefighters came to a parking garage in Brentwood late Friday night, May 24 to locate a kitten who became stuck in a hidden area of a vehicle's undercarriage.

According to a post from Lisa C. shared on Brentwood Patch's Facebook page, Grayson the kitty is as cute as they come, all of one pound and between six to eight weeks old.

Lisa said Grayson was discovered trapped underneath her car and Fire Engine 37 from Westwood came and saved the day. She said her neighbors called her at 11:30 p.m. Friday night and said there was a cat screaming somewhere in my car.

"Even people walking on the street heard him and tried to alert people in my condo building," Lisa said. "I don't know how long he was there."

She said it took four firefighters and six onlooking neighbors into the wee hours of the morning to save Grayson.

"They disassembled my car because we all thought he was stuck somewhere in the convertible top holder and they finally found him trapped in a hidden area under my car," Lisa said, thankful of Engine 37. "When they finally got him, he bolted out of the fireman’s hand and ran in another car’s engine. It was quite the production."

Lisa said Grayson spent the night in her home and took him to the vet Saturday. She covered the kitten's expenses, but added that Grayson needs a foster home and a cat-savvy person to help him find a home.

She thanked the LAFD for going above and beyond to help her and wants the public to be alert about cats and kittens that hide in cars, before you turn the ignition.
