Tenant to Begin Construction at Old Sansai Japanese Grill

A well known restaurant plans to open at the Brentwood space. Little details yet known of the name.

A restaurant brand leased the former Sansai Japanese Restaurant at 11678 San Vicente Blvd. in Brentwood and should begin interior and exterior work over the next couple of weeks.

Lee Shapiro, executive vice president of Kennedy Wilson, told Patch they leased the space to a well known restaurant brand, but could not yet disclose the name or type of restaurant.

Shapiro said Sansai Japanese Grill's lease expired in 2012 and did not renew, noting the chain, which has storefronts in Santa Monica and Westwood, continued shutting businesses around Los Angeles less than five years ago.

Sansai's Brentwood owners posted a note on Aug. 31, 2012 thanking the community for 10 years of service.

What restaurant do you hope fills Sansai's old space?
