Brentwood Jogger Attacked by Angry Bird

It's the squawk of the town.

Brentwood residents and joggers are chirping about birds, specifically angry birds, attacking them.

Watch the above video sent in of a black bird clearly dive bombing a local jogger on Montana Avenue near Wellesley Avenue.

After the June 17 post from a user showing a sign warning joggers and walkers of a bird's nest near Brentwood Country Club on the Montana Avenue side, responses quickly came in.

Here's a sample of the Facebook responses:

I thought it was a joke, but a woman that was passing by on the path said she was attacked by a black bird. - Susie Kim

I also thought this was a joke as I was walking by one day. Then, the other day, as I was driving by that same area, I saw a black bird very aggressively swoop down and peck a jogger right on the top of his head! I'm not sure what they have to be so angry about:) - Maura Kay

They are probably pissed of that the humans are trashing the environment. lol - Lynda Sudduth

They're mad that they aren't getting residuals from the video games. - Steve Goldberg

They got a few people ahead of me Friday morning around 7ish. Started crossing the street just in case. Crazy! - Kerri Wood Einertson

ha! and i thought it was just me being dive bombed on san vicente by angry blackbirds! nevermore! - Sleeper's Gourmet

I got squawked at quite loudly on Sunday walking back from the farmer's market, but not dive bombed. It was a murder of crows. - Scott Katz

Patch sent the above video to an expert at the California Wildlife Center in Calabasas, who could not yet determine the type of species for the angry bird in Brentwood. However, the general description is a type of black bird and the speculation is there's probably a nest nearby and the parent is defending its nest from what it perceives as intruders.
