I believe people can make a difference in their communities. That is why I love local news. I care about what affects the people in thier real lives, every day.

That is why I am a small-town newspaper girl, which is where my passion lies. I am a reporter for the Beverly Hills Courier and I love my work. This is actually my home town - I grew up in BH, went to El Rodeo and BHHS - and many of the people I report on are old classmates! I have been gone for nearly 40 years, but I am back. BH does that to you...

I have been a reporter for the Malibu Times and the editor at Westside Today, publishing six magazines covering Malibu, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Bel Air and Beverly Hills.

I admire local volunteers, politicians, commissioners, city council members and neighborhood council members so much for their dedication to preserving the quality of life in our communities and the long, thankless hours these volunteers spend doing just that.

I live on the Westside of Los Angeles with my two golden retrievers and I am actively involved in my community.

I was married for 27 years to William C. Talbot (deceased) and I have one daughter, Eliza, 31, who lives in Northern California. She is newlywed to Christopher Manchester and works at TuneIn Radio in Palo Alto. She graduated from USC, finished law school at the University of Hawaii and received her Masters in Public Administration (read Proud Mom!).
