Shannon Morgan, Neighbor

Shannon has been teaching in the Los Angeles School District for 7 years as an English teacher.  She has taught basic reading skills to those who are illiterate; honors classes; creative writing/interpretation classes; as well as college preparatory and gifted classes.  She is currently employed at Westchester Enriched Sciences and Gifted Magnet in Los Angeles, but is spending the summer in North San Diego County. 

Shannon comes from a family of teachers – her father was an English teacher, and her mother a Biology teacher and later a University Professor. 

Her fundamental belief in education is that each student is the best and brightest, and deserve to be treated as such. Every student approaches learning differently, and therefore needs a unique teaching approach.  

Shannon is married to Camp Pendleton Patch editor, Jared Morgan.
