Literati Café has been serving Brentwood, Westwood and Santa Monica residents since 2001. The term "literati" refers to an old Italian word that has come into the English lexicon with reference to the "literary intelligentsia." Hence, this handsome and cozy coffee shop off of Wilshire Blvd, adorned with apt posters for the film Fahrenheit 451 or an image of Jack Kerouac, has become a haven for screenwriters and the like in the area. They serve organic coffees and teas, sandwiches, wraps, pastries for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. For a heavier meal and a full bar, be sure to check out the Literati Bar & Grill next door, especially if you have large parties.
