University Volleyball Players Named All-League

Altankhuyag and Greene are on first team; Bungay and Krakovszki make second team.

The  teams have been selected and University High players have made the first and second teams.

Representing the Wildcats on the first team are senior outside hitter  and sophomore middle blocker . 

Joining Altankhuyag and Greene on the first team are junior outside hitters Chance Earnest and Alex Frapech, senior outside hitter Denton Van Duzer, sophomore middle blocker Grant Pugatch and junior middle blocker Conor Nasch of league champion Palisades; senior outside hitter Homer Smith and senior opposite hitter Xiao Xiong of Venice; senior libero Arnel Abeleda and senior outside hitter Justin Cobb of Fairfax; senior setter William Bryant and senior setter Brandon Kim of Westchester and senior opposite hitter Haley Shin of Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies.

Palisades setter Jack Scharf was named Player of the Year after guiding the Dolphins to the City Section Division I finals.

Two more Wildcats made the second team--senior setter and sophomore outside hitter.

Joining Bungay and Krakovszki on the second team are senior setter Brennon Chen and sophomore outside hitter Joseph Ibrahim of Venice; senior libero Isaac Margulies of Palisades; senior middle blocker Marshall Arwine and sophomore middle blocker Nick Davis of Westchester; senior opposite hitter Mohammed Choudhury and senior defensive specialist Alex Kang of Fairfax; and junior setter Caleb Paydar of Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies.

League coaches also selected a junior varsity all-league team and University sophomore middle blocker  has been chosen Player of the Year along with Palisades junior opposite hitter Teddy Lack and Venice sophomore setter Steven Glaza.

Joining Mims on the junior varsity first team is Wildcats sophomore outside hitter .

Rounding out the JV first team are freshman middle blocker Galen Dodd and sophomore middle blocker Max Reinhardt of Palisades; junior outside hitter Mikael Demisse of Venice; freshman outside hitter Leyon Gooden and senior middle blocker Josh Wilson of Westchester; junior setter Gabriel Thompson and junior libero Rudy Pineda of Fairfax; and junior outside hitter Jeff Galloway of Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies. 

The JV second team has two more Wildcats players: freshman middle blocker  and sophomore setter . 

Rounding out the second team are sophomore outside hitter Trevor Henry, junior outside hitter Tyler Hensley and sophomore setter Josh Kornblum of Palisades; freshman outside hitter Felix Blanco of Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies; freshman middle blocker Ryan Hewitt of Westchester; sophomore setter Jonathan Angel and sophomore middle blocker Jesse Garcia of Venice; and sophomore middle hitter Bradley Van Der Linde of Fairfax.
