The D-Fenders' 38-12 record was the best in the 11-season history of the league. The Energy's 25-25 record was the worst among the league's eight playoff teams.

The best-of-three series is scheduled to begin Wednesday in Des Moines, with Game 2 Saturday at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo. Game 3, if necessary, would be played April 16, also at the Toyota Sports Center.
The D-Fenders, who are the Los Angeles Lakers' NBA Development League affiliate, defeated Iowa, the affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Hornets and Washington Wizards, 95-79, Saturday at the Toyota Sports Center in their only meeting of the regular season.
