Brentwood Teams Make CIF Playoffs
Brentwood, Archer basketball and soccer squads head to postseason.
The CIF playoffs are set to begin and that usually means winning time at Brentwood School. The Eagles' boys and girls basketball and soccer teams all were selected for postseason play by the Southern Section selection committee.
The boys' basketball team is seeded seventh in Division 5AA and travels to Silver Valley in the first round Wednesday at 7 p.m. Should Brentwood win it would play either No. 10 Santa Clara or Riverside Notre Dame in the second round Friday.
The girls' basketball team is seeded No. 10 and travels to San Juan Capistrano St. Margaret's in the first round of the Division 5AA playoffs Thursday at 7 p.m. If the Eagles win they would play either Desert or No. 7 Villanova Prep in the second round Saturday.

The boys' soccer team made the Division 6 playoffs and will host Bishop in the first round Friday at 3 p.m., with the winner facing either Desert Hot Springs or the winner of Wednesday's wildcard game between Webb and Tahquitz.
The girls' soccer team is the No. 2 seed in Division 4 and will host the winner of Tuesday's wildcard game between La Reina and Valley View in the first round Thursday at 3 p.m. If victorious, the Eagles would play Estancia or Colony in the second round Feb. 22

The Archer School for Girls basketball squad is seeded sixth in Division 5A and will host Holy Family in the first round Thursday at 7 p.m. The Panthers' girls soccer team earned a wildcard berth into the Division 7 playoffs and hosts Hawthorne Math & Science Tuesday at 3 p.m., with the winner traveling to Saddleback Valley Christian for the first round Thursday at 3 p.m.
