Brentwood School Netters Take Playoff Openers

The boys volleyball and tennis teams prevail in their Southern Section first-round matches.

Brentwood School is known for having strong tennis and volleyball programs and this spring is no exception. Both squads notched impressive victories in their first-round matches in the CIF Southern Section playoffs.

The volleyball team, coached by Jeff Porter, finished co-champion of the Alpha League and earned the No. 3 seed in the 32-team Division 4 draw. The host Eagles swept El Rancho, 25-15, 29-27, 25-15, Tuesday night and will travel to unseeded Culver City for the second round Thursday at 7 p.m.

If victorious, Brentwood would meet the Sage Hill-Yucaipa winner in Saturday's quarterfinals.
