Brentwood Football Loses No Ground

Despite a loss, the Eagles stay just outside the East Valley Top 10 poll.

The CIF Southern Section office released this week's Top 10 football rankings and Brentwood School is again among the teams on the "others" list in the East Valley Division, despite the Eagles losing their season opener to Grace Brethren of Simi Valley, 26-23, last Friday.

Joining Brentwood in the "others" category, just outside the Top 10, are Rubidoux of the Mountain Valley League, Ontario Christian (Ambassador League), Riverside Notre Dame (Mountain Valley League), Yucca Valley (De Anza League) and Sage Hill (Academy League). Yucca Valley beat Rubidoux 36-13 in the opener for both schools.

Three Alpha League rivals are ranked in the Top 10 in the division. Sierra Canyon stayed atop the poll after trouncing Horizon 58-7 and Paraclete remained No. 2 despite losing its season opener to Serrano. Campbell Hall moved up to No. 3 after beating Cerritos Valley Christian 21-11.
