Living Today Has A Few Challenges

Have you noticed that there seem to be more and more challenges to living a secure and comfortable life today?  Crime, the economy, terrorism, wars, the ever increasing pace of life with technology...

It seems that no matter where you live, the best of neighborhoods or the most difficult, there seem to be challenges to our peace and serenity each day.  I don't need to give examples, they are flashed to us almost in real time as they occur, each hour, each day.  TV, the Internet, our smart phones and computers provide a feed that does not sleep.  There is no rest, there are no days off for crimes and hardships.

The economy and the state of the environment have us all on edge.

I don't have a background in finance or science, but I do know a bit about urban crime and international terrorism.  I retired from LAPD as a Detective Supervisor, and then went on to work for the U. S. Government doing work domestically and overseas.  I certainly don't know it all, but I do know some things.  I will share some of those things in occasional posts.

i will talk about the overall subject of Awareness...specifically, Situational Awareness (SA).  I will apply my experience and opinions to concerns in my Brentwood neighborhood, the Westside, our greater Los Angeles area and to our nation.

My goal will be first to help you, us all, to gain some of the SA that might make your survival more achievable and also to give some perspective to the things that are happening around us today.

Be warned, we may not agree on some things.  We don't have to.  My experiences have given me a unique view of this world.  Some of it good, some not so much.  But I offer it for the good.  I want to survive, and I want for you to survive.  And for us all to prosper.  And we can, and we will.
