Season Ends for Archer Softball
The Archer School for Girls lose in the CIF Quarterfinals to the Mesa Grande Academy 8 to 1.
It was a tough afternoon for the Archer School for Girls Softball team. Appearing in the CIF-SS Division 7 quarterfinals for the first time, the Panthers got trounced by a score of 8 to 1 by the Mesa Grande Cardinals at their home field in Calimesa, California.
"We ran into a buzz saw," said Archer Athletic Director Denny Lennon. "They're a very good team and they played very well."
The Archer team, however, had three errors that led to four runs.

The team started off well. In the top of the first inning, third base player Claire Kristoff not only singled, after advancing to third base thanks to a walk and another base hit, she stole home.
But that would be all for the Panthers. Pitcher Christine Zacarro allowed four runs in two and a third innings, while her sister and reliever Carolyn Zacarro allowed four more.
