Pali High Football Players Honored at Annual Awards Banquet

Four seniors, three juniors and several junior varsity players received awards for their play during the 2012 season.

The Palisades Charter High School Football Program held its annual awards banquet on Saturday, Dec. 1, recognizing several players for their hard work during the 2012 season.

Senior tackle Nate Breall and senior runningback Justin Sinclair were selected as co-most valuable players for the 6-5 City Section Division I playoff participants, according to the Pali Quarterback Club.

Junior quarterback Taylor Mensik was selected as the team’s offensive player of the year, and junior cornerback Kellen Ware was named defensive player of the year. Senior linebacker and fullback Ernesto Ruiz and senior linebacker Harry Blumsack each were awarded the captain leadership award. Junior quarterback Gary Dorfman was named scout team player of the year.

Sophomore runningback and safety Brad Boorstin was selected as the most valuable player for the Western League Junior Varsity Champions. 

The other junior varsity players honored were:

  • Runningback Dhamir Lomax – offensive player of the year
  • Linebacker Lofton Mason – defensive player of the year
  • Wide receiver and safety Quincy Cowherd – most improved
  • Kicker Ethan Erickson – special teams player of the year.
