Jclay, are you certain you responded to the right person? What could I have possibly said in my original post to lead you to conclude that I'm narrow minded? Or perhaps you think I'm narrow minded because I won't support a political party that less than fifteen days ago reaffirmed its opposition to equality? (Regardless of what YOU believe, you might want to read up on what your PARTY believes. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/04/12/republican-national-committee-reaffirms-opposition-to-gay-marriage/) You’ve really managed to irritate me and that’s no small feat. I’m forty years old and hold not one but two doctorates. My partner has a doctorate as well. We lead fantastic lives in a fantastic Brentwood home and pay a fantastic amount of taxes. We even have fantastic children. In short, we are as normal as any other couple living in America. My "agenda," as you refer to it, is to raise my children in the safest and healthiest environment possible. I didn’t mean to, nor do I think I did, disparage Republicans. I simply made a truthful comment on a Brentwood website about politics being more than an ideology when you’re gay. End of story. (Continued below)

Finally, please do not think that I am not grateful for your personal support. I am. However, your party does not share that support. That being, it’s my most fervent hope that fair-minded people such as yourself will raise your voices loudly and clearly on that issue. Otherwise, your party will continue its current decline and people such as myself will see your support for our community as nothing but ineffectual lip service. Please don’t let that happen.

Hi Dr. McDonlad, I just wanted to say that I support you and everything you said here. It is beautifully and fairly put! I logged on to dismantle the email notification because I keep seeing these odd posts by this actor's fans. Seeing yours was a pleasant surprise. This actor has a strange fanbase and most of these posts are probably made by the same one or two people. My husband says they are all very young; he is in the industry. Cheers!

I happen to be a fan of Ackles. He votes republican, but he does support equal rights for all. I don't know how I stumbled upon this site but now I have to give my 2 cents. You democrats are flippin nuts. Obama and his people are the most corrupt to date! He should be tried for treason. And don't even get me started on the health care BS. Obama is for no one but himself and anyone and I do mean anyone who voted for him are dumb***es!

And I don't care how many degrees you have. I happen to have a couple myself. So don't go there! And before you say a word about race or sexual orientation, I happen to be mixed and fully support gay rights!
