It's World Contraception Day!

Take a pill!

26 SEP 2013 (original Patch post date)

I missed the memo!

But I didn’t want to let the day close without acknowledging it as “World Contraception Day” (WCD).

WCD is recognized each September 26. The idea? Moving towards a world where every pregnancy is wanted. How? By improving contraception awareness, so youth can make informed choices on their sexual and reproductive health.

Makes sense to me!

WCD is supported by a coalition of 11 international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), as well as scientific and medical societies with an interest in sexual and reproductive health.

More information about the entities involved is here:

Thanks too to other organizations such as Californians for Population Stabilization, Population Connection and the Population Media Center who support family planning.

Here’s the WCD home page:

I don’t know what the story is on the writer of this post criticizing the day and contraception:

But as someone posted in the comments section, “Where is she from, 1745?”
