Traffic Officers To Be Deployed Earlier Than Expected

Metro and Councilman Bill Rosendahl's office announced traffic control officers will be stationed along Sunset and Santa Monica Boulevards starting Monday.

Metro has requested the Los Angeles Department of Transportation to deploy traffic control officers to four busy intersections earlier than expected, according to Councilman Bill Rosendahl's blog and an email alert from the Brentwood Community Council on Friday.

Starting Monday, Aug 6., traffic control officers will be deployed to the intersections of Sunset Boulevard and Barrington Avenue, Sunset Boulevard and Church Lane, Santa Monica Boulevard and Cotner Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard and Beloit Avenue during peak hours of 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. They will monitor traffic and adjust their hours if necessary.

The information comes a week earlier than the officers' anticipated Aug. 14 return when school is back in session. They were in mid-July.
