Traffic Control Officers Return to Brentwood Intersection

Project officials agree the Sepulveda Boulevard lane reductions have caused extra congestion this week, and traffic control officers should be in place at Barrington Avenue and Sunset Boulevard.

Due to the extended lane closures on Sepulveda Boulevard, the Brentwood Community Council reports the I-405 project - along with Department of Transportation - supports placing traffic control officers at Barrington Avenue and Sunset Boulevard during evening peak hours. Those peak hours will be determined by DOT.

The community council said the DOT were working to get the traffic control officers placed Thursday, but were unable to confirm due to the late notice. They will be in place Friday at the latest and will remain during the week at evening peak hours until the lane reductions on Sepulveda Boulevard end.

DOT officials agree that there is additional congestion in the area due to the Sepulveda Boulevard lane reductions.

Once the lane reductions are removed, the traffic control officers will be removed.

The lane closures on Sepulveda Boulevard, from Montana Avenue to Church Lan, were expected to be completed on Monday at 6 a.m. However due to poor weather conditions they may be extended a few days.
