SBRA Hosts Neighborhood Crime Meeting

Given the recent rash of burglaries, LAPD Officer Phillip Enbody will give a presentation Thursday at 6:30 p.m. on how Brentwood residents can make their homes "hard targets" for criminals.

The holidays saw an uptick in burglaries in many Brentwood neighborhoods. During the last two weeks of December, the Los Angeles Police Department focused a majority of its patrols in Brentwood on the area west of Bundy Drive, between Wilshire and San Vicente boulevards, said LAPD Officer Phillip Enbody at Tuesday's Brentwood Community Council Meeting.

As a result of this increase in burglaries, the South Brentwood Residents Association is holding a public safety meeting at the on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. to help residents combat crime.

LAPD Officer Phillip Enbody will present ways to make your home a "hard target," or more difficult for criminals to take advantage of.

"What we're finding is that people still, if they have alarms, they're not setting them," Enbody said.

Another thing that residents can do to protect their homes from burglars is to buy a security camera system. Criminals are looking for easy targets and are skipping the homes with cameras, Enbody said.
