LADWP to Hold Live Webcast About Rates

Angelenos have the option to attend tonight's meeting in person downtown or view online.

The Los Angeles Department of Water & Power is holding a  Thursday at 6 p.m., to discuss the 2011 rates process. LADWP customers also have the opportunity to attend the meeting in person at their headquarters downtown.

The rates process is what LADWP calls a dialogue between customers and the organization. According to the LADWP website, they need to make changes in order to replace aging infrastructure for both water and power. This will put further financial pressure on the organization, according to LADWP. So, they're asking Angelenos for input as far as top-priority projects and how these investments may affect customers' power bills.

LADWP officials held "community collaboration sessions across the city" and conducted webinars for both residential and commercial customers this past summer. The organization said it was also an effort to get public input on the 2011 LADWP rates process. Results from those community outreach meetings will be shared Thursday.
