So let's get chattin' already. Who has been to an election night party in Los Angeles? All of mine were in O.C., where I worked for many election nights. The rule in O.C., which remains Republican Country, was that reporters wanted to avoid the Democratic party: ham sandwiches and bad lighting in a community rec room. Whereas if you reported returns and comments from the Republican election night party, you were at Westin South Coast Plaza ballroom, where a great rock band performed, food was top of the line and there was a bar where you could expense drinks after midnight. What are L.A. County election night parties like?

At the municipal level, all the food was brought in from friends and family. Hardly any liquor, cause we had to go to work the next day, or take down the large political signs.
