Application Denied for Bel Air Skycrest Verizon Cell Tower

The Board of Public Works approves the original proposal for an Encino site, instead.

What could have been a contentious cell tower proposal on the Brentwood side of Mulholland Drive may no longer be an issue.

The Brentwood Community Council learned June 4 that the Verizon cell tower proposed for 16181 Mulholland Drive and points south was denied by the Board of Public Works, according to Barbara Dohrmann, president of the Bell Air Skycrest Property Owners Association.

Instead, the proposal was approved for its original location north of Muholland Drive into Encino. Dohmann added she expects north side residents to challenge the decision in court.

She added Verizon has always preferred the Encino location. For more background on the proposal, click here.
