Police Blotter: Break-Ins on the Rise in Brentwood, LAPD Says

This week's crime roundup includes four home burglaries.

Break-ins are on the rise in Brentwood, the Los Angeles Police Department said. Four burglaries top this week’s crime roundup from the LAPD blotter.

Residential Burglaries

Someone pried open a door to a home in the 300 block of South Cliffwood Avenue on  May 24 and took jewelry, a laptop and clothes. The incident was reported at 2:30 p.m.

A person entered a home in the 200 block of North Saltair Avenue through an open door on May 25 and took jewelry. The incident was reported at 7 a.m.

Someone pried open a window to enter a home in the 1500 block of Capri Drive on May 25 and took jewelry and a passport. The incident was reported at 1:15 p.m.

A person entered a home in the 100 block of North Canyon View Drive through a smashed window on May 26 and took  jewelry. The incident was reported at 11:30 a.m.

Theft from a Motor Vehicle

An MP3 player was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 11600 block of Chenault Street May 24. The incident was reported at 11 p.m.

A backpack was taken through the smashed window of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Granville Avenue on May 25. The incident was reported at 9:45 p.m.

Vandalism

The door to an apartment in the 11600 block of Mayfield Avenue was damaged May 22. The incident was reported at at 2:30 a.m.  

The mirrors to a vehicle parked in the 800 block of Norman Place were damaged May 23. The incident was reported at 11:30 a.m.

 The LAPD urges residents to always lock the doors to their cars and homes, and to keep bikes inside a garage or other secure storage area.
