Vehicle Hits Utility Pole, Knocks Power Out

The accident occurred in Brentwood on Friday evening.

A single vehicle crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of Barrington Avenue and Chenault St. on Friday night at approximately 9:47 p.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

Humphrey said LAFD received "multiple" 911 calls reporting the collision. One person who was "possibly ill or injured" was transported to UCLA Medical Center.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power responded with a work crew to restore power that was reportedly knocked out due to the accident. Humphrey said fire crews left the scene Friday at approximately 10:44 p.m.

It is unknown how many units were affected from the power outage, when power was restored to area and when the scene was cleared by LADWP.

Humphrey said LAPD was also notified. Calls made to the watch commander at West Traffic Division failed to reveal the cause of the incident.
