Trash Truck Burns in Sepulveda Pass

The fire began Thursday afternoon in Brentwood.

A large amount of smoke is visible near 2400 North Sepulveda Blvd. in Brentwood Thursday afternoon due to a trash truck fire. Four firefighters are currently on scene and no one has been reported injured, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

LAFD spokesman Erik Scott said Thursday the Department of Transportation is handling any traffic issues caused by the fire along Sepulveda Boulevard and the Bureau of Street Services has been called to assist. Crews initially responded at 1:52 p.m.

Scott said the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but confirmed rubbish in the truck caught fire. Scott noted they are trying to confirm whether crews dumped the load in order to save the truck from fire damage.
