Rash of Car Burglaries Hits Brentwood

Nine cars were broken into in a four-day stretch, many in carports.

According to the weekly crime report from the Los Angeles Police Department, nine cars were broken into over a five-day stretch last week, with four of the burglaries reported on the same day.

In addition, four more home burglaries were reported in various areas of Brentwood, along with the theft of a car.

A 97 silver Porsche was reported stolen between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Dec. 13 in the 12300 block of 10th Helena Drive.

On Dec. 12, between 10:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m., suspects smashed a rear window in the 12000 block of Coyne Street and took jewelry. Suspects took Christmas gifts from a residence in the 1000 block of Wellesley Avenue on Dec. 14, while on Dec. 15, suspects cut the lock on a shed and took bicycles from a residnce in the 11900 block of Mayfield Ave. Suspects entered a home in 12300 block of Darlington Avenue through an unlocked door and took jewelry and an iPad on Dec. 16

The rash of car burglaries were all reported between Dec. 13 and Dec. 17. Four of the burglaries were reported on Dec. 16, with three of those occurring in the 11900 block of Kiowa Avenue.
