Police Blotter: Grand Theft Auto, Burglary and Vandalism

This week's crime roundup includes stolen iPods, diaper and gym bags, sunglasses, cash, books, DVDs and jewelry.

Grand theft auto, home burglaries, vandalism and theft from vehicles topped crime for the week of May 27- June 4 in Brentwood. All crime information comes from the blotter distributed by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Grand Theft Auto

A blue, two-door 1996 Audi was stolen from the 13100 block of Rivers Road on June 4. The theft was reported at 2:30 a.m.

A black, four-door 2008 Mercedes S550 was stolen from the 300 block of North Bristol Avenue on June 1. The theft was reported at 7 p.m.

Theft from a Motor Vehicle

An iPod was stolen through the smashed window of a vehicle parked in the 11600 block of Mayfield Avenue on June 3. The theft was reported at 8 p.m.

A gym bag was stolen through the smashed window of a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Beloit Avenue on June 2. The theft was reported at 9 p.m.

A diaper bag was stolen through the smashed window of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Beloit Avenue on June 2. The theft was reported at 4 p.m.

A pair of sunglasses was stolen through the smashed window of a vehicle parked in the 11900 block of Kiowa Avenue on May 29. The theft was reported at 10:30 p.m.

Burglary

Residents reported jewelry stolen from a home in the 11400 block of Waterford Street on June 3. The suspect entered the home through an open door. The theft was reported at 10 a.m.  

Residents reported cash stolen from a home in the 11700 block of Barrington Court on May 29. The theft was reported at 11:25 p.m.

Residents reported laptops stolen from a home in the 11600 block of San Vicente Boulevard on May 27. The suspect entered the home through an unlocked door. The theft was reported at 6 p.m.

Theft

Two women reportedly took a wallet and identification from the employee break area of an office in the 11700 block of San Vicente Boulevard. The incident took place June 4 and was reported at 7:35 p.m. Police described the suspects as 20- to 30-year-old African-American women who stand approximately 5-feet, 4-inches tall and weigh 150-160 pounds.

Books and supplies were reported missing from an office in the 11900 block of San Vicente Boulevard on June 3. The theft was reported at 9 a.m.

A man reportedly took DVDs from a display case in the 12000 block of Wilshire Boulevard on June 3. The crime was reported at 7 a.m. Police described the suspect as a 50-year-old African-American man who stands 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds.

Vandalism

The window of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of South Barrington Avenue was smashed May 29. The incident was reported at 9:30 p.m.

Battery

A road rage incident involving pepper spray took place June 3 in the 100 block of South Barrington Avenue. The incident was reported at 12:45 a.m.

A roommate grabbed another roommate May 30 at a residence in the 900 block of south Barrington Avenue. The incident was reported at 4:30 p.m.
