Police Blotter: Burglary and Vandalism

This week's crime roundup includes stolen iPods, cash, jewelry and a safe.

Home burglaries, vandalism and theft from vehicles topped crime for the week of June 5-11 in Brentwood. All crime information comes from the blotter distributed by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Thefts from Motor Vehicles 

A man reportedly entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the 11800 block of Dorothy Avenue on June 11. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. The break-in was reported at 12:01 a.m. Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male, age 25-30, standing approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds.

An iPod was stolen June 5 from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 3000 block of Elvill Drive. The theft was reported at 2:17 a.m.

Burglaries

Doors were taken from a construction site in the 200 block of South Cliffwood Avenue on June 9. The theft was reported at 4:30 p.m.

A man reportedly pried the door open to a home in the 11800 block of Wilshire Boulevard on June 9. He did not take anything. The incident was reported at 2 a.m. Police described the suspect as age 45-50, approximately 6-feet tall, and weighing 180-185 pounds. Witnesses said he drove a white 1978-1985 Chevrolet cargo van.

Residents of a home in the 600 block of Walter Way found their screen door slashed June 7, but no one appeared to have entered the property. The incident was reported at 2 p.m.

Residents reported cash and computers stolen from a home in the 11600 block of San Vicente Boulevard on June 5. The door to the home had been pried open. The theft was reported at 2 p.m. 

Thefts

A suspect entered an establishment on the 11900 block of San Vicente Boulevard through an unlocked door to steal cash and a safe. The incident took place June 7 and was reported at 8:11 p.m.

A man reportedly took cash from a tip jar from an establishment in the 11600 block of San Vicente Boulevard on June 6. The theft was reported at 3:15 p.m. Police described the suspect as a white man in his mid-20s, 5-feet, 6-inches to 6-feet tall, and weighing approximately 160 pounds. Witnesses said he drove a black, four-door Honda Accord.

Vandalism 

The tires to a vehicle parked in the 900 block of South Bundy Drive were slashed June 6. The incident was reported at 6 p.m.

Battery

A person reportedly pushed another person June 8 in the 300 block of South Barrington Avenue. The incident was reported at 4:45 p.m. Police say they have identified a suspect.
