Plumber 'Accidentally' Caused South Bundy Apartment Fire

Los Angeles Fire Department's arson unit is still investigating Friday morning's blaze in Brentwood.

A plumber is responsible for a fire that gutted two apartments South Bundy Drive Friday morning in Brentwood, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Capt. Jaime Moore said Friday afternoon that a plumber talked to investigators saying he was doing "some kind of construction" earlier that morning at the apartments, leading investigators to determine he accidentally caused the fire at 845 and 847 South Bundy Drive.

Moore said they estimated the blaze caused approximately $500,000 in structural damages. It remains under investigation.
