UPDATE: Motorcyclist Dies in West L.A. Crash

The accident was Wednesday afternoon at Bundy Drive and Missouri Avenue.

Updated Friday, 11:30 a.m.: The motorcyclist was identified Friday as Brandon Garrett, 35, of Sherman Oaks, according to Los Angeles County coroner's Investigator Elissa Fleak.

Original: A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday afternoon in a collision in West Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

The man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of his family, was northbound on Bundy Drive about 4:55 p.m. when he collided with a Lexus making a left turn from southbound Bundy to eastbound Missouri Avenue, according to the police.

The impact ejected the motorcyclist who landed on the roadway. The Suzuki continued moving and hit a Scion before stopping in the left turn lane of Missouri Avenue, according to the police.

Los Angeles firefighters pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.

first of all, you can't be ejected from a motorcycle.....secondly, obviously the crash was caused by the afternoon sun in te eyes of ohe driver...

Glenn, the CHP, the LAPD and the LA County Coroner -AL-L define a person leaving a vehicle in a crash as an ejection. If you have a problem with that, please call them. Thank you for your informed conclusion on this tragedy. I am sure we can now reassign all the traffic investigators, now that we have your expertise on the Patch to do their work for them.

I live in the apartment on the corner of Bundy and Missouri. The sun did not have anything to do with this accident. The motorcyclist was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. He clipped the bumper of a vehicle turning east onto Missouri and was thrown from his motorcycle which went airborne and landed on the curb. The rider impacted the car in the photo and was killed on impact.

thank you, elizabeth....I have three friends who lucky to be alive who were hit by westbound cars making left turns when facing into the evening sun....I assumed it was this because of the time at which the accident occurred

Some of you people are pathetic. I rode with Brandon, went to school with Brandon, had many laughs with Brandon, got him hooked on my home brew... All you are worried about whose fault it is... He's dead. Does it really matter? Say some good thoughts and shut the f-ck up!

Applejack: Do you know where the services are? I am a recent co-worker from Universal Studios.

Bradon died opposite our meditation center, on S. Bundy Drive, and my friend and I said loving prayers for him an hour from the Missouri sidewalk facing Brandon's body, lying on the street. We felt he was at peace, we also prayed for members of his family, and friends. God bless. Judith
