(Interactive) Police Blotter: House and Business Break-Ins on the Rise

According to Los Angeles police, criminals are increasingly targeting Brentwood residents and business owners. Here's a list of reported crimes for the week ending Sept. 18.

Police say to lock your doors and windows, set your  alarms and check your house and business alarm regularly. You should check or install a house or business security camera system and businesses should install security gates.

Grand Theft Auto

1.) On Sept. 12 at 6:15 a.m., a 1996 Kawasaki motorcycle was stolen from the 11700 block of Dorothy Street.

Burglary, Theft From Motor Vehicle

2.) A car window was smashed and a laptop and briefcase stolen at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 on the 11400 block of Albata Street.

3.) On Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. a vehicle window was smashed and an iPhone was stolen on the 11300 block of Farlin Street.

4.) A vehicle window was smashed and an iPod, cash and a wallet were stolen on the 11300 block of Homedale Street at 9 p.m. on Sept. 13.

Burglary, Theft From Home or Business

5.) Unknown items were taken through an unlocked window on the 100 block of N. Bowling Green Way at 12 p.m. on Sept. 12.

6.) On Tuesday at 6 p.m. the window of a home was pried open and cash and jewelry were taken on the 300 block of S. Saltair Avenue.  

7.) The screen of an open window was cut and cash and jewelry taken from a home on the 900 block of S. Bundy Drive at 7 a.m. on Friday.

8.) The window of a home was pried open and jewelry taken on the 900 block of Amherst Avenue at 8 p.m. on Friday.

9.) A smashed door window resulted in unknown stolen items from a home on the 400 block of N. Skyewiay Road at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

10.) Bicycles were stolen from the balcony of a residence on the 11900 block of Montana Avenue at midnight on Saturday.

Theft

11.) Alcohol was stolen from an open store on the 11900 block of San Vicente Boulevard at 11:50 p.m. on Friday. Police say the suspects, a Caucasion male, approximately 22-25 years old, and an Asian male, approximately 20-26 years old, fled the scene in a silver 1997 BMW.
