Firefighters Rescue Second Distressed Hiker

The Los Angeles Fire Department responds to a second call of a distressed hiker in Mandeville Canyon on Saturday.

A second hiker was hoisted to safety by a Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter on Saturday.

The 54-year-old male was rescued from a hillside in the eastern portion of Mandeville Canyon—at 2199 N. Canyonback Rd.—and transported to UCLA Medical Center after 5:47 p.m., according to LAFD.

A few hours earlier, firefighters rescued a 40-year-old male hiker who sustained severe injuries to his head and rib. He was also transported to UCLA.
