CHP Investigates Fatal Crash

A two-car collision at Wilshire and the 405 leaves one dead and a woman incarcerated on suspicion of drunken driving.

An investigation was under way today into a two-car collision in Westwood that claimed a person's life and left a woman incarcerated on suspicion of drunken driving, authorities said.

Wilshire Boulevard was reported closed early this morning as authorities
investigated the crash, which occurred on Wilshire at the San Diego (405)
Freeway around 11:15 p.m. Monday, said California Highway Patrol Officer
Patrick Kimball.

A woman involved in the accident was arrested on suspicion of driving
under the influence, according to the CHP's website.

Wilshire Boulevard was closed in both directions just west of the San
Diego Freeway at 11:30 p.m. Monday to allow an investigation to take place, and
the southbound freeway's offramp to westbound Wilshire Boulevard was closed
eight minutes later, according to the CHP. They were reopened before rush hour.
