Twenty firefighters knocked down an approximately 15-foot tall, quarter-acre brush fire that ignited Monday afternoon near an off-ramp at Getty Center Drive and the I-405 Freeway southbound.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Eric Scott said four engine companies responded and firefighters quickly gained control of the flames and knocked it down in 25 minutes. No injuries were reported.
On Twitter, LAFD Fire Chief Brian Cummings responded to Patch's Tweet with:
Chief Brian Cummings @LAFDFIRECHIEF: Our crews caught it and are mopping up now.
According to SigAlert, there were motor vehicle accidents on both sides of the I-405, blocking the center lanes and causing congestion at the time of the fire.
Patch will provide more updates as they become available.
