Brentwood Police Blotter: Tool Boxes Torched, $17K in Jewelry Stolen from Home

The following information was supplied by the West L.A. Division of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Suspects enter construction site, torch open locked tool boxes

Between Nov. 28 at 3:30 p.m. and Nov. 29 at 6:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Hansley Avenue, suspect(s) climbed over a fence to gain entry to a construction site. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspects torched open locked tool boxes and pried open a door to a single family residence to gain entry and remove more construction tools.

Between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 28 in the 11700 block of Kiowa Avenue, suspect(s) used unknown means to enter an apartment, with no signs of forced entry. Police said the suspect(s) ransacked the home and removed jewelry valued at $17,000.  

Jewelry, iPhones stolen from vehicles

  • Between 9:05 and 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 25 in a parking lot in the 11900 block of Sunset Boulevard, suspect(s) smashed a window to a vehicle and removed iPhones, according to police.
  • Between 5 p.m. on Nov. 25 and 9 a.m. on Nov. 26 in the 11900 block of San Vicente Boulevard, suspect(s) pried open a car door parked in an underground garage and removed jewelry.

Bike stolen

On Nov. 26 in the 800 block of Bundy Drive, at bicycle, valued at $1,200 was stolen.

LAPD Senior Lead Officer Maria Gray reminds Brentwood residents to remind their families and friends to never leave anything of value in your vehicles. It's not just our shopping season, thieves see it as their prime shopping season as well, she said.
