Brentwood Police Blotter: Guns, Jewelry and Vehicles Stolen in Holiday Burglaries

The following information was supplied by the West L.A. Division of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Note: The reports encompass a three-week period.

Guns and truck stolen from home

Between Dec. 22 at 8:30 a.m. and Dec. 26 at 2:30 p.m. in the 12200 block of Darlington Avenue, unknown suspect(s) entered a home by unknown means and removed firearms, a bicycle and a 2012 Ford F-150 truck, according to Los Angeles police.

Handgun stolen

Between Dec. 24, 2012 and Jan. 2, 2013 in the 500 block of Burlingame Avenue, unknown suspect(s) kicked in the door to a residence and removed a handgun.

More home burglaries

  • Between Dec. 19 at 2:30 p.m. and Dec. 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the 11700 block of Goshen Avenue, unknown suspect(s) entered a home by unknown means and removed jewelry and make-up, amount to an approximate $2,200 loss according to police.
  • On Dec. 28 between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the 200 block of North Bundy Drive, unknown suspect(s) entered a home by kicking in the rear door and removing watches and pens, amounting to an approximate $25,000 loss acording to police.
  • On Dec. 31 between 6 and 7 p.m. in the 1000 block of Greta Green Way, unknown suspects entered an apartment via an unlocked rear door and removed cash and computers.
  • Between Dec. 28, 2012 and Jan. 3, 2013 in the 12300 block of Montana Avenue, unknown suspect(s) kicked in an apartment front door and took jewelry and a bicycle.
  • Between Dec. 13, 2012 at 7 p.m. and Jan. 2, 2013 at 8 p.m. in the 11900 block of Goshen Avenue, unknown suspect(s) used a possible key to enter an apartment and removed purses and vehicle keys. Police say an estranged former boyfriend is a suspect.

Grand theft auto

Between Dec. 30 at 8 p.m. at Dec. 31 at 7:30 a.m. in the 12200 block of Darlington Avenue, a 2011 BMW 3281 was stolen from the street.

Jewelry valued at $100,000 stolen

On Jan. 3 in the 100 block of North Cliffwood Avenue, unknown suspect(s) removed jewelry, valued at $100,000, from a property.

Silver flatware valued at $48,000 stolen

On Jan. 4 in the 500 block of Moreno Avenue, suspects removed silver flatware from a property valued at approximately $48,000.

Motor vehicle burglaries

  • Between Dec. 20 at 9 p.m. and Dec. 21 at 5 a.m. in the 11600 block of Chenault Street, keys and a garage remote were stolen from a vehicle parked in a garage.
  • Between Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. and Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. in the 11600 block of Mayfield Avenue, credit cards and a iPod were stolen from a vehicle parked in a carport.
  • On Dec. 30 at 6:15 a.m. in the 11700 block of Sunset Boulevard, a cell phone and a wallet were stolen from a vehicle parked in an underground garage.
  • Between Dec. 30 at 9 p.m. at Dec. 31 at noon in the 12300 block of Montana Avenue, jewelry and clothing were stolen from a vehicle parked in a carport.    
  • On Jan. 2 between 5:50 and 7:35 a.m. in the 11800 block of Wilshire Boulevard, a purse and a wallet were stolen from a vehicle parked in a garage.
  • On Jan. 2 between 5 and 7 p.m. in the 11600 block of Darlington Avenue, a briefcase was stolen from a vehicle in a parking garage.
  • Between Jan. 5 at 6:30 p.m. and Jan. 6 at 9:45 a.m. in the 11600 block of Dunstan Way, glasses were stolen from a vehicle parked in a carport.
  • On Jan. 3 between 6 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the 12100 block of San Vicente Boulevard, a license plate was stolen off a vehicle.

Petty theft

  • On Dec. 22 in the 12200 block of Wilshire Boulevard, unknown suspect(s) removed a credit card, wallet and cash, amounting to $314, from a business.
  • On Dec. 21 in the 11600 block of Chenault Avenue, unknown suspect(s) removed bicycles valued at approximately $1,600 from a business.
  • On Dec. 28 in the 11600 block of San Vicente Boulevard, unknown suspect(s) removed a check with zero value from a business.
