Woman Falls to Her Death Riding Roller Coaster

Woman Falls to Her Death Riding Roller Coaster:  After expressing concern that she was not properly secured in her seat, a woman visiting Six Flags Over Texas died after falling out of the park's signature 14-stories high Texas Giant coaster, when the ride was allowed to continue anyway.  Kind of makes you wonder, if you can’t trust a pimply-faced teenage amusement park employee, who can you trust?

Study Says Claims Sex Addiction Not a Disorder:  According to a new UCLA study which appears in the current online edition of the journal Neuroscience and Psychology, researchers say sex addiction does not appear to be a real disorder.  Now I have no idea whether or not sex addiction is a real disorder, but it sure hasn’t seemed to have stopped anyone from running for public office in New York.

More Kids Getting Hurt by Toppling TVs:  According to a study published in the journal Pediatrics, an average of 17,000 children come to the hospital with TV-toppling injuries each year, with more than 300,000 U.S. children to the emergency room over the last two decades, a rate of one every 30 minutes.  We can only hope that people are finally getting the picture.

Geraldo Rivera Posts Semi-Nude Selfie:  Ever the self-promoter, Geraldo Rivera posted a nude selfie to Twitter with a note with the tag that "70 is the new 50."  I have no idea what point he was trying to make, but frankly, I had to look twice to make sure this wasn’t one of the Village People.

World’s Oldest Man Dies in Japan at 116:  At 116, Jiroemon Kimura wasn’t just the world’s oldest person, he was also the oldest man ever verified to have lived.  Of course the down side of being the world’s oldest person is that there’s always gonna be some young buck out there, gunning for your title.

Pot Plants Worth $85 Million Destroyed On Federal Land:  Authorities said they have eradicated more than 27,000 marijuana plants in the past week with a potential street value of about $85 million on U.S. Forest Service land in Santa Barbara County.  All I can say is, I've obviously been camping in the wrong forests.
