This Was the Week That Was: Rain and Runners Rule

The news of the week in review for you.

It was another quiet week in Brentwood, which is why we live here.  The big news came from outside -- the weather, the Marathon and Hollywood.

The week kicked off with the , which began at Dodger Stadium and ended up at the Pacific Ocean.

Last Sunday's runners faced gusty winds and driving rain as they in Brentwood to the finish line in Santa Monica.

The rain and winds continued through the evening and sent a massive tree limb next to the post office Sunday night.  No cars were damaged when the tree split in half but the debris closed a northbound lane.

Tuesday brought a break in the weather which allowed city crews to cut up and from the tree and eventually cut it down totally, which they accomplished by sawing off one limb at a time.
