Amphitheater Performance and Family Art Time

Family Amphitheaters Performances at the Skirball Cultural Center have returned and your family can do art projects together at the Skirball or the Getty Museum.

1. Family Amphitheater Performances have returned to the Skirball Center. Today's performance features the magic and comedy of Zach Waldman. There will be two performances, one at noon and another at 2 p.m. Free with the price of admission. The Skirball Center costs $10 for general admission, $7 for seniors and full-time students and $5 for children age 2-12. Skirball members and children under 2 are free. The Skirball Center is at 2701 N. Sepulveda Blvd.

2. Take in the sunset while listening to the surf rock tunes of Best Coast, the latest musical endeavor from Bethany Cosentino and multi-instrumentalist Bobb Bruno. The concert begins at 6 p.m. and is part of the Getty’s “Saturdays Off the 405” summer concert series. The Getty Center is at 1200 Getty Center Drive.

3. Create a porcelain sculpture of an animal during an outdoor, drop-in workshop at the Getty Center. Family Art Lab: Feathers, Fur and Fun! takes place from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the family room patio. The program runs on weekends through July 24. The Getty is at 1200 Getty Center Drive.

4. The Skirball Cultural Center has brought back its popular Summer Drop-In Art Studio. The program features a rotating menu of inspiring projects that focus on exploring, re-imagining and enhancing the world around us. Drop in any time during regular museum hours. The last entry is at 4:30 p.m. Museum hours are 12-5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The museum is closed Mondays. The program is free with museum admission. General admission is $10, while seniors and full-time students pay $7. Admission for children ages 2-12 is $5 and children under the age of 2 are free. The Skirball Cultural Center is at 2701 N. Sepulveda Blvd.
