No 405 Closures on the Fourth of July

Metro will put construction on the 405 expansion on hold for Independence Day and Santa Monica and the Palisades are having holiday parades.

1. There will be no 405 closures in honor of the Fourth of July holiday. Closures will resume Tuesday.

2. The Getty Center, the post office and most government offices will be closed today.

3. Pacific Palisdes will hosts its annual Fourth of July parade on Sunset Boulevard between Via de la Paz and Drummond. The parade begins at 2 p.m. Parade marshal Jeffrey Tambor and Pacific Palisades Honorary Mayor Sugar Ray Leonard will join more than a thousand marchers for an afternoon full of great American family fun.

4. Santa Monica will also hold a Fourth of July parade and after party. The parade, themed Fourth of July on the Beach, starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Santa Monica Civic Center at 1855 Main St. A celebration in Heritage Square will immediately follow the parade. The celebration features food trucks, live music and dancing. Heritage Square is at 2612 Main St. at Ocean Park Boulevard.
