Neoclassicism Tour at the Getty and Commute Alerts

Enjoy a neoclassicism tour at the Getty, attend a book publishing party, and make sure you don't get caught in any upcoming closures on the 405.

1. The Getty Museum hosts a one-hour tour focusing on Neoclassicism and Romanticism. The tour explores the art and culture of these related and distinctive movements of the 18th and 19th centuries. Meet the educator at the museum information desk. The tour, which runs Thursdays through June 30, begins at 3 p.m. The Getty is at 1200 Getty Center Dr.

2. Diesel Bookstore hosts a publication party for author Eden Unger Bowditch's latest novel, The Atomic Weight of Secrets, at 7 p.m. Diesel is at 225 26th Street.

3. Meet fellow stamp collectors at the Donald Bruce Kaufman- Brentwood Branch Library today at 3 p.m. The library is at 11820 San Vicente Blvd.

4. Pedestrian access on Sepulveda Boulevard between Montana and Bronwood avenues will be restricted and detoured to Church Lane for removal of the retaining wall on Sepulveda Boulevard. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work on the Sunset Boulevard on-ramp to the northbound 405 freeway will finish in approximately two weeks. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting.

As part of the Sunset Boulevard bridge reconstruction and water line replacement, Sunset Boulevard will remain closed at night between Church Lane and the northbound Sunset Boulevard ramps to the 405 freeway. The nightly closures will take place for approximately one week, followed by intermittent closures. Anticipated work hours and full closure times on Sunset Boulevard are from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.  The Sunset Boulevard bridge will be open during the day.

Westbound Sunset Boulevard traffic will be detoured to Sepulveda Way, to northbound Sepulveda Boulevard, to southbound Church Lane, and back to Sunset Boulevard. Eastbound Sunset Boulevard traffic will be detoured to northbound Church Lane, to southbound Sepulveda Boulevard, to eastbound Sepulveda Way, and back to Sunset Boulevard.
