Five Things You Need to Know: June 5

Hear the Werner Quartet, buy fresh produce at the farmers market or be spellbound at the Skirball Cultural Center.

1. University Synagogue hosts the Werner Quartet as part of the Music Guild’s Spring Concert Series. The concert begins at 3 p.m. at the synagogue, 11960 Sunset Blvd. at Saltair in Brentwood.

2. Brentwood has a weekly farmers market Sundays. The market runs along Gretna Green Way from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

3. Throughout the run of Houdini: Art and Magic and Masters of Illusion, encounter strolling magicians across the beautiful Skirball grounds on Spellbinding Sundays. The event runs from 12-2 p.m. at the Skirball center, 2701 N. Sepulvelda Blvd. Admission is $10 for general admission, $7 for seniors and full-time students, and $5 for children ages 2–12.

4. Sepulveda Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through today. The closures will take place near the Getty Museum and are part of the 405-Sepulveda Pass Widening Project.
