Create a porcelain sculpture, attend a concert and avoid closures on the 405 Freeway.

1. Create a porcelain sculpture of an animal during an outdoor, drop-in workshop at the Getty Center. Family Art Lab: Feathers, Fur and Fun! takes place from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the family room patio. The program runs on weekends through July 24. The Getty is at 1200 Getty Center Drive.

2. Dengue Fever, a band whose exotic blend combines psychedelic rock with Cambodian pop, returns to the Getty with songs from its latest  album, Cannibal Courtship. The band sings songs in English and Khmer, the language of the Cambodian people. Also performing: DJ Mahssa. The concert begins at 6 p.m. and is part of the Getty’s “Saturday Off the 405” summer concert series. The Getty Center is at 1200 Getty Center Drive.

3. Playwright Kenneth Lonergan’s Lobby Hero has come to the Skirball Cultural Center. Featuring Tate Donovan and Dulé Hill, Lobby Hero is the story of Jeff, a Manhattan security guard who falls in love with Dawn, a cop who has a crush on her partner, Bill. However, Bill may be hiding secrets of his own. As a murky murder investigation unfolds, Jeff must decide between doing the right thing for the wrong reasons, or the wrong thing for the right reasons. The show starts at 2:30 p.m. Tickets cost $40-$48 for general admission and $20 for full-time students. For advance tickets, go to www.latw.org or call 310-827-0889. The Skirball Cultural Center is at 2701 N. Sepulveda Blvd.
