Metro: Expect Traffic Delays on Sepulveda Boulevard Monday

Crews begin work on moving a gas line under Sepulveda Boulevard as part of the 405 widening project. And a presidential visit may tie up Wilshire Boulevard Monday afternoon.

Drivers in Westwood should expect extended delays on Sepulveda Boulevard, thanks to a closed southbound lane between Montana Avenue and Moraga Drive. Another northbound lane will be closed near Moraga Drive.

According to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), energy company Chevron must move a gas line under Sepulveda to accommodate the ongoing widening of the 405 freeway. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., although according to the release from Metro, hours could expand to a full 24 hours, if needed.

In addition, Los Angles City Councilman Paul Koretz announced in his newsletter that Monday's visit from President Barack Obama may involve a motorcade to Hancock Park on Wilshire Boulevard, although the exact time was not announced for security reasons. Koretz's newsletter said that the President may arrive in West L.A. via helicopter on the way to the home of Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas, where the president will attend a fund raiser hosted by Eva Longoria.
