A Cool Summer Night Concert

Dengue Fever kicks off the Getty Museum's "Saturdays Off the 405" outdoor concert series, which will run through October.

The courtyard of the J. Paul Getty Museum became a dance floor Saturday as people enjoyed music performed by Dengue Fever, a band that fuses Cambodian folk tunes with surf rock.

Concert attendees—many with glass of wine in hand—took in the stunning golden-red California sunset while gently swaying to the music.

Saturday's concert kicked off the museum's free outdoor summer concert series "Saturdays Off the 405." The series runs annually from May through October. Seven concerts are planned for this year's series.

"You can enjoy the contemporary, hip music at our outdoor concerts," said senior project coordinator Sarah McCarthy. "The music performed at our museum has a broad appeal—something the young and the old will enjoy."

"It's a great way to enjoy the summer nights with great music and beautiful galleries with your friends and family," she added.

Back by popular demand, Dengue Fever showcased its music for the third time at the museum.

"We love being here," said band member Ethan Holtzman. "It's perfect. It's one of our favorite places to perform."

The next shows will feature music by Best Coast and Lord Huron.

The series continues on July 9, July 30, Aug. 27, Sept. 17, and Oct. 15.
