The Beverly Hills Bar Association (BHBA) installed Brentwood resident Lawrence H. Jacobson as president of its board of governors during an awards dinner Tuesday at the near Beverly Hills.
"It is with great pride, a sense of gratitude and no small amount of trepidation that I assume the obligations of president of the Beverly Hills Bar Association," Jacobson said during his installation speech. "I have no illusions about the difficulty of the task, or the enormous responsibility it entails. It is a high honor, but it also is a big responsibility.”
Jacobson has more than 40 years of experience in the practice of real estate law. He is a member of the California State Bar Real Estate Sales and Brokerage Steering Committee and currently serves as legal counsel to the Newport Beach Association of Realtors.
Along with his extensive career in real estate law, Jacobson has lectured and written comprehensively on business and real estate issues with a focus on construction defects, legal malpractice and brokerage malpractice law. He often is called upon to testify as an expert witness in real estate matters.
Jacobson holds degrees in law and political science from UCLA, where he was a senior editor of the UCLA Law Review and graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif. Jacobson also holds a juris doctorate from the UCLA School of Law.
Jacobson was administered the oath of office by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Louis M. Meisinger during the awards dinner.
