Caffe Luxxe, owned by best friends Gary Chau and Mark Wain, first introduced super-premium artisanal hand-crafted coffee to Los Angeles in 2006, beginning with the opening of the first of three Caffe Luxxe locations on the Westside. In 2013, Caffe Luxxe began roasting its own beans at a downtown Los Angeles roastery called Il Laboratorio. Caffe Luxxe beans, often purchased as micro-lots of single-origin beans directly from farmers in Africa, South America and South East Asia, consistently receive top ratings from the respected industry journal, Coffee Review, earning Caffe Luxxe its reputation as LA’s best-tasting coffee among the most discriminating coffee-drinkers in Los Angeles, known as Luxxistas.
