Spumoni Closes; Owner Focuses on Opening Il Piccolo Ritrovo

The Italian restaurant on San Vicente Boulevard in Brentwood already has a new tenant.

Spumoni Italian Cafe closed its doors in Brentwood in May and a new tenant has already arrived at the space at 11714 San Vicente Blvd.

The proprietor of a nearby jewelry store told Patch Tuesday they do not know what the new business will be.

Spumoni owner Nando Silvestri told Patch he closed Spumoni and relocated to Barrington Village where he recently opened Il Piccolo Ritrovo at 140 Barrington Place, the former San Gennaro Cafe.

Silvestri said he is waiting for their alcohol license and to be able to fire up their 1000-degree wood-burning oven, which has arrived directly from Naples, Italy.

Silvestri is also co-owner of Il Piccolo Ritrovo in Pacific Palisades.

He added that Spumoni, which has locations throughout Los Angeles County including Santa Monica, is a different concept to Il Piccolo Ritrovo, but he owns both restaurants.
