Sprouts:

Willie Jane, a restaurant serving up southern family-style fare opened at 1031 Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice. Its menu features Cast Iron Chicken and Cornbread Panzanella, West Coast Shellfish and even Crisp Pork Belly. Dish are large enough to share and it's working with master gardener Geri Miller of Home Grown Edible Landscapes on a new vegetable and herb garden next door.

Cafe Vida, a mainstay healthy gourmet restaurant in the heart of Pacific Palisades' village, has found a third home in Culver City, according to EaterLA. Interior work and exterior landscaping is being completed at the 9810 Washington Blvd. location. The menu features Latin-influenced breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes like the grilled chicken chipotle quesadilla and and the jalepeno turkey burger.

A new ABC license is posted at 1920 Colorado Ave. for Santa Monica Brew Works Inc., according to EaterLA. Looks like a local craft beer establishment will flourish in this part of the city, and it could include a local pale ale.

Sneaker enthusiasts and celebs alike turned out this week for the opening of Supra at 304 Santa Monica Blvd, its third retail location, according to RackedLA. The store is exclusively selling the hot Skytop III "LA," limited to 100 pairs.

Shutters:

The 30-year-old Taqueira Chihuahua closed its Santa Monica location on Lincoln Boulevard due to corporate pressure, reports Grub Street. Its Marina del Rey location survives.
